CoolAdz.com : Traffic Exchange MarketingTraffic exchanges exist to bring traffic to your site. What you do to keep the visitor on site is important. Do not use the surf environment to sell or build your list. You want to generate interest and get the action you want, which is a click-through to your website. There are thousands of traffic exchanges on the web today. You may chat, play craps, find hidden treasure, answer trivia questions and guess the number while surfing. While these features are fun, not much attention is paid to the websites visited. Auto Surf Does Not WorkThere are auto surfing sites, where the browser does the surfing. This is the worst possible avenue for generating traffic. If you do not view web sites, will you expect that others will view yours? All you are generating is hits when you want page views by real visitors. Also, while you are not looking, what is happening to your computer?Beware of Traffic ToolbarsSome traffic exchanges make you download software (tool bars and viewers) so that they may monitor surfing activities. The danger in this traffic exchange lies within the software used. Adware, spyware. cookies and trojans may lurk on your computer when you are finished. Manual Traffic Exchanges WorkManual traffic exchanges require you to click the correct number or shape or answer a question correctly to continue. Although this is less restrictive than toolbar surfing, your computer security is still at risk. You may still experience web sites that try to make you send email, click through to another site or perform some other action--before you may take control of your computer again!Pop Over, Pop Up, Pop Under, Exit PopEvery traffic exchange program has different requirements about if you may have any type of pop. Read the rules carefully because you are asked to certify that your site conforms with their terms of services when you submit it. If you are out of compliance, you will be reported by other surfers. Any type of pop that breaks the surfing frame, redirects to another site or opens a new window is a violation. Those fake Windows messages are the worst because they make people mad. RotatorsRotators allow you to market many products, services, websites, splash pages and blogs without having to add them all to each traffic exchange you use, which may, by the way, have a limit on how many sites you may add to rotation. Rotators also solve the problem of, "which site do I promote?". I use Traffic Exchange Toolbar (TEToolbar), mainly because you can have a mix of types of sites in the rotator. It also seems to be accepted by most traffic exchanges, even those that have their own branded rotator. Select Traffic ExchangesThese are the traffic exchanges we use for CoolAdz.com. There are specific traffic exchanges for blogs. Please see blog advertising and feed marketing. There are many traffic exchanges and several sites that try to
rank the traffic exchanges. It is hard to tell which programs will work for you.
There are a few programs that have passed the test of time and deliver value for
your surfing efforts, such as: There are other programs that you may like because you may chat with your friends while surfing, or the advertisers seem to be more to your liking. Some traffic exchanges have downline builders and feeders for other programs. Find what traffic exchange works for you and use them. Splash PagesThe best type of page to show on a traffic exchange is a splash page. This is a fast-loading, attractive page that draws interest to your site. For an example, here is a splash page for a Valentine's Day gift. It has a picture of lovers, a message and a call to action. It does not keep you on that site with offers and "but, wait..." scenarios. If viewers are interested, they click through to website. Traffic Wrap UpTraffic exchanges offer you almost immediate feedback on your promotion. Click-through rate (from the exchange to your opportunity) tell you what is working. Use common sense when dealing with new exchanges and report sites that try to download information or take over your computer. For information on adware and spyware removal, visit the Library.
